Japanese maple 'Beni-kagami'

'Beni-kagami' is a vigorous large shrub or small tree, to 8m tall and wide, with deeply-cut, seven-lobed leaves that open purple-red in spring, maturing to a darker maroon red in summer before turning scarlet in autumn. The foliage may take on green undertones if grown in shady sites. Small, red spring flowers are followed by bright red, winged fruits in autumn
