allium 'Ostara'

A low-growing, deciduous, perennial, bulbous plant producing broad strap-shaped, fleshy blue-green leaves and large, densely-packed spherical heads of deep purple, star-shaped flowers, on straight stems to 40cm (16in) tall in May and June. The flowers are followed by firework-like seed heads The flowers are extremely attractive to bees and other pollinating insects, making the plant a wonderful addition to a wildlife garden.
