Berberis × rubrostilla 'Wisley'

A deciduous small shrub, this Barberry cultivar is quite plain and green in spring and summer but very showy and attractive in autumn. The flowers appear in spring and are yellow in colour followed by large fruits, which are borne in clusters of 2-4 and hang from the branches in great profusion. Each berry is about 1.5 cm long, a roundish oblong in shape, and of a beautiful coral pink-red colour. The plain round to oblong mid-green leaves turn attractive shades of yellow red and purple in the autumn.
