About this plant

A vigorous, wide-spreading deciduous shrub with tangled, spiny branches and glossy, oval, dark green leaves. In spring it bears clusters of double, creamy white bowl-shaped flowers 4cm across, followed by green-yellow, sweetly-scented fruit resembling small apples. These fruits can be made into quince jelly
