A compact evergreen shrub to 1m high, with a rounded habit, and ovate to oblong leaves with blunt, rounded tips. Produces white flowers to 5cm across, with yellow marks at the base of the petals and yellow stamens, in early to mid summer

Grow in poor to moderately fertile, well drained soil, in a sheltered position in full sun. Plant out when danger of frosts has passed. Generally lime-tolerant, but may become chlorotic on very chalky soils
