'Gireoudii' is a large, thorny, deciduous shrub or small, wide-spreading tree with semi-cascading branches. The foliage is glossy, and shallowly lobed, mid-green when young, developing pink and white marbling in summer then turning green again. Flattened clusters of creamy-white flowers in late spring are followed by dark red berries
