Broad, upright, evergreen shrub to about 25cm high and 45cm wide, with tiny, needle-like, dark green leaves, the young shoots tipped yellow in spring. Dense racemes of urn-shaped lilac-purple flowers with constricted mouths, appear from midsummer to late autumn
