Argyle apple

A moderately sized, evergreen tree, with a dense canopy of very striking silver-blue foliage, reaching 10-15m (33-50ft) in height if left unpruned. The bark is mid-grey over reddish-brown and vertically fissured. The glaucous, round to oval-shaped juvenile and intermediate foliage, lasts on the tree for many years. and when fresh is covered in a white, waxy bloom which is highly ornamental. Its attractive foliage makes it useful for cutting and floral displays. Adult folige is a dull, sage-green and sickle-shaped, but rarely appears. White flowers are produced in spring. The foliage and wood is strongly fragrant of eucalyptus oil.
