beech 'Purple Fountain'

A weeping deciduous tree, slowiy reaching an 8m dome. At first, the branches look extremely random, but with age, the gaps fill in to form a pleasing mushroom-shape. The leaves emerge red-bronze then become burgundy-purple through the summer. In autumn they turn golden before falling. Bark smooth silver-grey with an interesting silouette in winter
