crab apple [Brandywine]

A small, upright tree to about 6m with a rounded crown. The dark green foliage has dark red tinges in spring and takes on tints from reddish-orange to deep purple in autumn. Spring blossom is light pink, scented, with many double flowers; autumn fruit are small and yellow and tend to fall early. Has sterile pollen so cannot pollinate other cultivars
