A very early, dessert apple with shiny, greasy, brownish-green skin overlaid with a dark red flush and pale speckles. The deep cream flesh starts firm with a sharp flavour, becoming softer and sweeter in storage. Spreading trees produce a heavy crop in late summer, which stores to mid-autumn.
