About this plant

A large, early, cooking apple with thin, green, greasy skin and white, fine-grained flesh that bruises easily, but cooks to a soft, juicy puree with good flavour. Vigorous trees produce showy blossom and crop well in early autumn with fruit storing to mid-autumn. Requires a group 3, 4 or 5 pollinator

Cultivation

Prefers deep, fertile, moist but well-drained, neutral soil in a sunny sheltered position. Will not thrive on very acid soils, shallow chalk soils or with shade for more than half the day. May require fruit thinning to improve fruit size and quality. See apple cultivation
