An evergreen azalea to about 1.2m high, with a compact habit, and small, ovate, dark green leaves. In mid-spring, produces clusters of small, mid pink, double (hose-in-hose) flowers with pale stamens, that fade to pale pink with age. No. 16 of the 50 cultivars introduced by Ernest Wilson from Japan in 1920
