Rhododendron lepidostylum

An evergreen shrub, usually up to 60cm but sometimes over 1m high. Leaves are small, dark green with a bluish tint, with rounded tips and yellow scales on the undersides. Leaf margins, flowers and young shoots show fine bristly hairs. Pale yellow flowers, sometimes with orange speckles on the upper petals, are produced singly or in pairs in late spring and early summer
