About this plant

Bushy rose to 1.5m tall with coppery-brown stems carrying numerous thorns and very healthy, leathery, rich bronze-tinted, green leaves. Scrolled buds open to single, fragrant, cerise-pink blooms, creamy-white at the base of the petals, with prominent stamens, that appear continuously in summer and autumn, the first flush followed by rounded green then orange-red fruits (hips)

Cultivation

Grow in full sun with fertile, humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil. Tolerant of shade, poor soils and suitable for hedging. Mulch with well-rotted organic matter in late winter or early spring, and for best flowering apply a general rose or shrub fertiliser in early spring and again in early summer. See rose cultivation
