Suitable for growing as a large shrub in a border or over an arbor, obelisk or pillar in fertile, moist well drained soil. Prefers a sheltered sunny position. Best not to plant roses in soil where other roses have grown previously. Generally tough and trouble free. Add mycorrhizal fungi to the roots when planting to help the plant establish quicker.

Prune in late winter, late February to March. Cut back disproportionately long stems in line with the rest of the plant, cutting back lightly in the first year and more vigorously in later years, previous seasons growth to above an outward-facing bud about 5-10cm from the main stem, thinning out shoots as necessary and starting with diseased and damaged stems.
