About this plant

R. laevigata is a very large rambling rose with glossy, bright green, semi-evergreen leaves with three leaflets. Large, single, slightly fragrant, white blooms with a boss of golden stamens appear in early summer, followed by pear-shaped, bristly, brownish orange-red hips

Grows best in fertile, humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil on a sunny, sheltered wall. Mulch in late winter and, to improve flowering, apply a balanced fertiliser in late winter or early spring
