About this plant

A compact shrub, reaching around 1.2m in height with glossy, green foliage and single, mid-red flowers surrounding golden-yellow stamens in summer, with an occasional repeat-flowering in autumn. The lightly-scented, clustered blooms become paler as they open and age and are followed by red hips in autumn

Cultivation

Grow in full sun with fertile, humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil. The upright stems of this cultivar make it suitable for hedging. For best flowering apply a balanced fertiliser and mulch in late winter or early spring and a balanced fertiliser again in early summer. See rose cultivation
