About this plant

R. rubus is a large rambler rose, to 5m tall, with large, glossy, dark green foliage and large prickles. Single, fragrant flowers, 3cm across, are produced in dense clusters, pink in bud opening to creamy white with orange anthers, followed by small, red fruit

Cultivation

Grows best in fertile, humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil in a sunny, open position. Good for a pergola or growing into a tree. Mulch in late winter and, to improve flowering, apply a balanced fertiliser in late winter or early spring. See rose cultivation
