About this plant

A seedling of 'Kiftsgate', a very large, vigorous rambler rose about 6-8m tall or more, with mid-green foliage tinted crimson when young, and large trusses of very fragrant, semi-double, creamy-apricot blooms that age to blush pink, flowering in midsummer, then small, rounded orange-red hips follow; foliage becomes a rich, russet colour in autumn

Cultivation

Grow in fertile, humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil in full sun or part shade, ideal for north-facing situations or growing into large trees. Mulch with well-rotted organic matter in late winter or early spring, and for best flowering apply a general rose or shrub fertiliser in early spring and again in early summer. See rose cultivation
