Grow in a deep, well-drained soil with a pH ideally between 6.5 and 7.0. Plant between late autumn and early spring. If container-grown, plant in late spring when the threat of frost has passed. Mulch with well-rotted farmyard manure in the first years after planting. See outdoor grape cultivation

Grape pruning and training is carried out in winter and midsummer. Pruning group 11 or pruning group 12 for formal training

Propagate by hardwood cuttings or grafting onto Phylloxera-resistant rootstocks

May suffer from glasshouse red spider mite, grapevine blister mite and brown scale

May be affected by grey moulds; this cultivar has some resistance to powdery mildews
